An innovative repurposed ladder shelving unit upcycled from a cargo ship's old rope ladder. This is a stylish statement-piece - an item of marine history. Is there a more interesting addition for a lonely wall in need of some Scaramanga appeal? The rope element is fabricated from natural fibre - which we believe is sisal. The wood is hardwood - teak. Many decades ago this rope ladder was suspended and hung over the side of a large ocean-going ship in Northern India. Today, with the use of modern materials such as plastic, this sisal/wood ladder has been replaced giving the opportunity of a second life as a decorative ladder shelving unit With its shallow depth, this 3-tiered wall-shelf would be perfect along a narrow hallway or in a small bathroom. In general, this is a very flexible piece that would suit most domestic or retail environments. Please be aware that our current stock of this item may vary from the images shown. If you would like to choose a ladder before dispatch, please let us know when placing your order. The rope element is fabricated from natural fibre - which we believe is sisal. The wood is hardwood - teak.
